Naantalin Musiikkijuhlat presents
SCHUBERTIADE
As the rest of Vienna celebrated Ludwig van Beethoven’s latest symphonies, a small but dedicated crowd of admirers regularly gathered in the city’s private apartments to hear Franz Schubert’s music. Called Schubertiades, these evenings were the occasion for almost all of the composer’s major premieres. The Naantali Schubertiade will feature one of his most beloved works, the Fantasia in F minor for piano four hands, his last solo song as well as his Octet in the footsteps of his idol Beethoven.
