ANAM and Melbourne Recital Centre present
Mostly Mozart – Inner Journey
Paavali Jumppanen performs with and directs musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in a program of virtuosic versatility as part of the Mostly Mozart series.
Opening with Pärt’s famous Tabula Rasa, a double concerto for 2 violins, string orchestra and prepared piano, this piece is often credited as the turning point in Pärt’s career.
The program finishes with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.24 in C minor. The brooding darkness of this work makes it unique among Mozart’s concertos. It projects a reflective, personal, almost intimate quality that resonates with listeners.
