Melbourne Conservatorium of Music
Hanson Dyer Hall Concert Series presents:
Southbank Trio
Three outstanding members of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music faculty — pianist Andrea Lam, cellist Richard Narroway and violinist Sophie Rowell — join together for a program of romantic depth and contemporary reflection. Felix Mendelssohn’s storm-swept D minor Trio sits alongside Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s equally passionate D minor Trio, a work of lyrical power and individuality. Between them, Stuart Greenbaum’s evocative The Year Without a Summer reflects on a world unsettled by nature’s forces, casting a modern light on Romantic ideals of beauty and fragility.
