‘[Rojas] reveals the very essence of his character and soul but, like any clever composer, he leaves you wanting more’ – Cut Common Magazine
With the passion of South America bubbling in his blood, Chilean-born composer and pianist Daniel Rojas performs the best-loved music of Latin America as it sighs, cries and proclaims the legacy of such icons as Consuelo Velazquez, Zequinha de Abreu, and Astor Piazzolla.
Tango, afro-Cuban, Andean and indigenous music — with hints of jazz and classical — are treated with Rojas’s trademark improvisation, creating a truly heartfelt and transporting musical journey. With guest bandoneon player, Stephen Cuttriss.
Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre.
